Professor Jacky Yuk-chow So is currently the Dean, Chair Professor of the Faculty of Business Administration at University of Macau and Co-Director of the Asia-Pacific Academy of Economics.
Before moving to Macau in January 2010, Professor So was the dean, and BBVA-Compass Bank Distinguished Professor of International Finance, of the A.R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business at Texas A&M International University. He is also the executive director of the Academy of Entrepreneurial Finance. He was a professor of finance at the Economics and Finance Department at the Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville (SIUE) for more than twenty years and served as chairman for almost ten years. Dr. So received his Ph.D. degree from the OhioState University.
Professor So was a consultant for many corporations and law firms. He was a visiting scholar and/or consultant of the Federal Reserve Bank in Chicago, Philadelphia Stock Exchange, Federal Reserve Bank in St. Louis, Office of the Small Business Administration (SBA), WashingtonD.C., etc.
Professor So is a board member of the Global Finance Journal, Journal of International Business, and the Academy of Entrepreneurial Finance, etc.
Professor So’s research interests are international finance, banking, corporate finance, and risk management. He received more than half million dollar grant to support his research, teaching, and service activities.
In 2014, Professor So was visiting scholar in the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Asia and Pacific Department and received the Education Leadership Award from the Asia’s Best B-School Awards 2014 held in Singapore. Professor So is the first from Macao to receive this award.

Prof. Spencer Benson, Director, Centre for Teaching and Learning Enhancement, and Professor in Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Macau SAR, PRC. In 2008-09 he was a Fulbright Fellow to Hong Kong working on the 3-3-4 reform and General Education. Before joining the University of Macau in 2013 he directed the Center for Teaching Excellence at the University of Maryland, MD, USA. While at Maryland he led several student trips to S.E. Asia. His research interests include: the development of pedagogies for teaching science for all students, assessment of student learning, secondary science education and the use of technologies for learner-centered 21st century education. Prof. Benson has organized local, national and international meetings on science education, E-learning, scholarship in teaching and learning (SoTL) and faculty development. He has published more than 50 articles on teaching and learning and has given talks and workshops on teaching and learning in more than a dozen countries around the world. He enjoys travel and has visited more then 45 countries and all continents except Antarctica, his favorite area of the world is East Asia and his favorite place to visit in Laos. One of his long time interests and hobbies is cooking.

Tim Simpson is Associate Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Associate Professor in the Department of Communication. He teaches classes about Intercultural Communication for the department and for the Honor’s College. His research is focused primarily on understanding contemporary Macau, and the significance of Chinese tourism, gambling, and consumption practices for the post-socialist development of the PRC.
