“Reduce! Reuse! Recycle!” by CKYC Service Learning Group
(Group members: Ada, Febie, Lettice & Viola)
on Mar 19 – 21, 2018
Organized by the CKYC Service Learning Group, a series of environmental recycling activities were successfully held from Mar 19 to 21, 2018 including the Master’s Tea with Prof. Garry Wong to talk about the recycling knowledge and the Bring Your Own Mug for Free Coffee activity.
1st Activity: Master’s Tea with Prof. Garry Wong
Prof. Garry Wong was invited by the Group to hold a Master’s Tea on the topic of “Environmental Recycling” on Mar 19, 2018 at the Fellows’ Salon of Choi Kai Yau College. He introduced the recycling principles of the world and classified garbage can, as well as the 2nd-hand clothes collection boxes in Macau to our students.
2nd Activity: Bring Your Own Mug for Free Coffee
It seems that coffee becomes a necessary daily item of people’s life in the world. If you go to Starbuck or Pacific Coffee and buy a cup of coffee per day, then after one year, there will be 365 paper cups produced and disposed. In order to promote the message of environmental recycling to our students, CKYC Service Learning Group designed and organized the meaningful activity which was Bring Your Own Mug for Free Coffee on Mar 20 and 21 at College’s Dining Hall – “Only you bring your mug, you could get a free coffee.” Participants joined the activity actively, some of them brought mugs, some of them brought a cup, and one of students brought a reused milk bottle! That’s very lovely! Whatever they brought, it was important that the message reached our students!
After the activities, the Group also created a WeChat message to promote the environmental recycling continuously! Here we would like to share the link with you all: http://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/1C_2MVjcLr05BzZkmqlw_A
